Internet of Tricks

The Erasmus+ project "Internet of Tricks" aims to educate children and young people about the risks and opportunities of the Internet of Things (IoT). The project includes workshops and boot camps for young individuals, as well as the production of educational materials.

To illustrate these aspects, we have created several connected devices with corresponding educational materials that, in various ways, educate, inform, and highlight either risks or opportunities. The educational material demonstrates how to build one's own device, step by step, and also how to use the device to explain the Internet of Things to young people – for example, in a classroom setting. The material, which is free to use, is be available in Swedish, Catalan, Romanian, Italian, French, and English.

The project has been ongoing since the fall of 2021 and is a two-and-a-half-year initiative spanning five countries. Alongside partner organizations from Italy, Romania, France, and Spain, Kodcentrum is lead partner in the project.

  • Erasmus+ is the European Union's program for education, youth, sports, and training. Initiated in 2014, its aim is to support collaboration and exchange across borders and promote flexibility and employability within Europe. The program provides opportunities for over 4 million Europeans to study, train, and gain experience abroad.

  • Internet of Things (IoT) refers to devices, large and small, that are connected to the internet in order to collect data. It can be everything from your smart phone or watch, or lighting, to cars, a house robot vacuum cleaner, and industrial machinery.

    Every minute, 7620 connected objects are produced. That's 4 005 072 in a year!

Some of the risks with this is someone accessing your data without your concent (hacking), and using it to track or spy on you.

This also comes with possabilities and opportunities such as connecting with people, fun games, help with everyday tasks, and more.
